works for 2007

Expo in gallery Knopp

Gallery Knopp (Stockholm) did an expo in 2004 with some of my works. However I no longer have these works online, they are too “electro”. I don’t know what got into us but we all were too much into that crap and now I can’t even look at that stuff without feeling embarrased. Though some people still like it, don’t know why.

Ramses

I designed the site for the Ramses restaurant. Phillip Starck did the interior design, Luis Urculo did the graphics and I designed and produced the website.

I did not focus my work on information but on inviting the potential customer to a magical experience. So that means, making the site truly special but smaller than it should be so everyone would be eager to see more. It is indeed a very small thing but I really like the site. The one thing I love most about design is making people feel things, specially when those things make a strong lasting impression.

Illustrations for PageOne

They asked for some illustrations to be included in a book about “digital illustrations”. I still don’t know what they meant with digital so I did my thing and they liked it, they asked for a couple more and here they are, “digital illustrations”. I’ll post pictures of the book as soon as I can get my hands on it.

Place des cercles

This a video my buddy LuisUrculo and I did for Tuñon y Mansilla. We told the story of a proposal TyM planned for Carreau des halles in Paris. We represented the emotional construction of a place and a piece of architecture that could exist.

Fundacion Miguel Fisac

Identity (proposal) and website (fundacionfisac.com) consulting and design.

For the identity I created a type based on various fonts used in early twentieth century architectural technical papers.

For the website, I was presented to a wide number of functionalities and needs, I first focused on simplifying the use and structure and then, strip the design so it could be easily used for a target of forty something users not used to access this kind of information through the internet.

LuisUrculo.com

I designed and developed the site (and blog) for Luis Urculo. I had to do it in a rush because he desperately needed a site to showcase his work so I had to stick to fast to deploy Flash-self-made components and simple ergonomics but the result was quite good (and at the end, he loved the old school background).

I did this great looking logo but it differed too much from his style and it was too much of an attention grabber. That is something I’ve learned this year designing for other artists and designers, never shadow their work and personal style. I loved the logo but it was clearly inappropriate.
