ComfyUI is the open-source, node-based toolkit for generative AI pros. Comfy is legendary and one of the first in this space, but like many grassroots projects, it quickly outgrew its indie phase and its visual identity lagged behind its ambition.

We started with a collaborative soul-searching discovery process that peeled off cultural layers to find the essence of Comfy. At its core, we found pure creative energy, positive vibes, and the most honest and positive desire to create. To evoke this energy, we went back to the early 2000s internet when technology felt playfully limitless. We played Orbital in a loop, opened up old Tamiya model kits, and we went for hardcore acid P3 color palettes that felt like great PS1 sessions.

Since meta tools are meant to serve everyone, every style choice can potentially become exclusionary to some. This is why we decided to focus on creative energy and a wordmark that gives creators space to build their own world, no matter the style.

Once we solved the wordmark, it was time to go deep into Comfy lore and infuse the unofficial Comfy mascot with brand new Comfy energy. We generated a world of classic anime, fennec foxes and city pop that built up the brand identity into a unique brand world.
